This section describes the basic steps of an appointment flow.
1. An appointment is made.
Appointments can be created manually by the yard operator or by the carrier
All new appointments appear under your "Appointment" list, showing their relevant details.
2. Check in.
Carriers can check in themselves or be checked in manually by yard operators or can check in themselves.
Once you or the carrier create checks in for the appointment, a check-in task will appear in the "Task" menu with the status "Pending". A truck with matching license and trailer license plates will also appear in your yard view next to the "Arrival" gates.
An additional movement task to move the vehicle to its designed (from reservations) location will also be created.
The task status will only be changed to completed once the task worker completes the task in their view or the task status is changed manually.
Check In tasks can be completed a few ways, you can find out about them here
Note: If the task has no worker assigned it only can be completed manually, if you wish for the worker to complete the task see here.
3. Assigning additional tasks
After the initial tasks are done, you might want to assign more tasks to your appointment.
For example - perhaps you want to move the truck from a ramp to a parking space. For this, you would need to create a new task.
Here is more information about different task movement types and their usage.
Once all of the movement tasks are done, all that is left is to check out.
4. Check out
Check - out tasks can be created by creating a check out task to a departure gate. Click here to find out more on how to create such a task.
Once the check-out task is created, it will appear in your task list.
At this point, you can either complete the task manually by changing its status to "completed" or the carrier can complete it by completing the "check-out". The check-out is completed through the same page as the check - in. Click here to find out more about what it looks like for the carrier.
After a successful check-out, the appointment is done. All finished appointments land under "Archived" filter.
