What are restrictions used for?
This article will cover some of the most common restrictions managers use to manage their warehouse operations.
What does it mean for you?
Individual/combinations of these restrictions can limit your ability to make reservations for certain dates/time slots.
In case restrictions are in effect, they can result in the following:
- All the slots are filled for the day - In this case, you would need to choose a later date.
- If you are making the reservation within 24 h due time, Client might have configured the warehouse settings to prevent those reservations - You will need to contact your Client directly regarding this or simply choose a later date.
- Incorrect Load type or Transport type is selected, which results in wrong ramps and time slots being shown - In the Reservations tab click on the “Change selection” > re-select the warehouse > re-select the load, transport types.
What can you do about them?
While our Support team can guide and advise you as to why you can't make a reservation, we cannot override these restrictions, as these setting are managed exclusively by the warehouse.
In cases where your deliveries go above these restrictions, please reach out directly to the warehouse managers to see if they can make a reservation on your behalf, as they can override these restrictions from their end.
Examples of most commonly used restrictions:
Limit of units per day: Example: The client has this limit set to 100 and already had a reservation for 50 boxes, so if you try bringing 60 boxes on top, you won't see availability to make the reservation.
Loading/unloading time: Example: Your order has 10 boxes, with preparation time and the unloading time of 5 minutes per box, the total reservation time will be 1 hour. If the client doesn't have a 1+ hour timeslot open that day, you won't see availability to make the reservation.
Limit by number of units per reservation: If it's set to 30 and you try bringing more, you won't see availability to make the reservation. |
Some other warehouse restrictions include:
- Maximum # of reservations at the same time - prevents too many simultaneous bookings
- Maximum advance booking time - can prevent "last minute" reservations
- Holidays/Days off - will block dates for reservations
- Disabled periods - technical breaks/lunches that won't be available
- Working hours - prevent booking outside of working hours
- Reservations for next day are restricted - cannot make a reservation after business hours for next day
Since you can't see/amend these warehouse settings, it's always best to reach out to the warehouse/our Support team to double-check availability.
